Bottom Up/Top Down

As a mostly learn-by-doing career, the experience and training of those serving as association CEOs is routinely idiosyncratic, moving up through the ranks in associations of varying sizes, types and cultures. Accordingly, professional development can be a bottom-up thing, doing one thing while learning another as opportunities present themselves.

The Seminar offers the sitting CEO a top-down look at associations and what CEOs do in them - the boundaries, the guardrails of the CEO function as well as the fundamentals of the type of organization they lead. In this, it focuses on the commonalities of the CEO experience as well as an opportunity to develop a broader scope and deeper appreciation of what associations are and do, all this from the core source on the CEO function – other association CEOs.
